Oberthur Technologies (OT), a global leader in the delivery of security solutions for the payment industry, announced it won an American SESAMES Award during a ceremony late yesterday at CARTES SECURE CONNEXIONS AMERICA in Washington, D.C.
OT won for the first payment card integrating Dynamic Security Code (or dynamic CVV) which provides an extra layer of security for card-not-present transactions. The solution replaces the static three-digit code on card backs with a mini-screen that refreshes with a new code, typically every hour.
“Oberthur Technologies is constantly working to develop better, more secure technologies for the payment industry, and we’re honored to be recognized by the SESAMES as we continue to bring the best solutions to market,”
said Martin Ferenczi, President, North America at Oberthur Technologies, one of 26 companies competing for the awards.
The American SESAMES Awards recognize the most innovative technological applications developed for the U.S. market in the fields of smart cards, digital security, identification, secure transactions and contactless technology.
Award winners are selected by a jury of international experts chosen for their involvement in associations and organizations for the promotion and development of smart technologies.
